In the past 2 years, our law firm has gone through some exciting changes. Our operations have seen some healthy growth with a move to a new office, developing a strong working relationship with Breen Law, and increasing the number of our wonderful employees.

With an expanding workforce, there comes an increased challenge to make sure every staff is made to feel like an important member of the team and are receiving the most support to be the best they can be, not just professionally but in their personal lives as well.

Recently, our law firm went through the process of performing individual employee reviews. While these did include a work-related performance component, the majority of the time was spent focusing on our staff’s motivations, life goals, concerns, and paths to fulfillment. We want our people to know that their well-being is paramount to anything else we pursue as a firm.

One of our firms’ core values is to never be afraid to ask for help, and subsequently always be prepared to lift up those who may need an extra hand. This is not limited to work-related tasks, but extends to all aspects of a person’s life.

The Bell Let’s Talk initiative was started in 2010 with the goal of establishing a public dialogue about mental health issues and breaking down the inaccurate stigma that mental illness is a weakness and not the medical condition needing treatment that it is (Sick Not Weak). To date, Bell’s donations to mental health programs have totaled over $93.4 million and climbing.

One of the best ways to help those struggling with mental illness is to let them know you are there to listen, learn, and help. With so much communication happening through social media these days, Bell will donate $0.05 to mental health programs for each of the online interactions:

Beyond using these interactions to help raise funds, use this as the perfect excuse to let those close to you that you are ready and open to them whenever, however, and wherever.
